I am very impressed with Agusta Westland - they are British Italian. As soon as Bunga-Bunga installed herself in Delhi, Agusta used British companies (ITC, HLL, Eicher) in India to ghoosi-fy the ChorCongressis as the operational parameters of helicopter were changed ridiculously. Interesting facts: 1) Indigenous Agusta-Westland Helicopters were each 420 crores where as MI 17 that crashed in Uttarakhand was about 103 crores. So each Agusta was over 4 times expensive, just because Bunga-Bunga wanted to help Italian economy. 2)The cabin height was changed to minimum 1.8 m that eliminated Eurocopter which is built by Germany/Spain. The British-Italian Agusta-Westland just know their way amongst Jackals of Sansad. 3) There are more sardars in Britain than in Italy, Germany, or Spain. When such contract like Agusta-Westland which was to be manufactured in Britain is given, the British remember the favor by sardar, and quid pro quo helps the sardars in UK and Canada. Its no secret, it is well-known. 4) A Tatti-Pandit who was Chief did not even trust anybody else - and got cousins directly involved. As they say, even accepting ghoos needs skill, which TattiPandit Tyagi did not have. Even those who paid ghoos could not believe the pettiness, the cheapness, and blatant disregard for constitutional position as top steward of security apparatus. TattiPandit is barometer of ghoos-ing - say, Tyagi ghoos-scale - and every ghooskhor is judged on that scale. 5) Agusta-Westland helicopter do not have better service record than others. And with shoddy maintenance skills of Indian technicians, they needed one which required less maintenance. Afterall, VVVVIIIPPPPPs like Pratibha-heen are supposed to warm the seats of such helicopters. And that holds for fighter jets as well.
