I am very proud of the 2014 Redbirds and like to share my reason. 1) We battled back to overtake the Central Division crown from the Brewers. Would you rather be a Brewers fan? 2) We fought a furious onslaught by the Pirates in the end of the season to claim the Central Division crown. Would you rather be a Pirates fan? 3) We beat the Dodgers and to be Cy Young / MVP Clayton Kersahaw TWICE and won the NLDS showing the world that money does not buy championships. Would you rather be a Dodgers fan? 4) The Angels were swept showing the world that you can take Albert Pujols from us for $254 million, but money will not buy you a championship. Would you rather be an Angel’s fan? 5) We played in a pretty tough division – Reds, Pirates and Brewers unlike the Dodgers who got 3 gimmes with the Padres, Rockies and Diamondbacks. 6) We lost our heart and soul - Molinas for 2 months in the season and battled to stay alive and win the Central. 7) We lost Molinas again in the middle of the NLCS series but battled back without him three times in SF and lost barely. 8) Yes, our offense was weak due to the loss of Beltran and lack of a 3rd power hitter. but when the playoff came, our youngsters showed their power hitting capabilities – Adams, Grichuk, Wong, Carpenter. 9) We survived the loss of 2,3 and 4 pitcher for the season – Wacha, Garcia and Kelly. Lynn became a #2 starter and did a great job. Miller came around at the end of the season when we needed him to. 10) We made a bunch of great moves in the season – Peralta, Neshak, Lackey and dumping Craig. Ellis and Masterson may been duds, but were not crucial pieces and we lost very little with these two. 11) And my last thought - 4 years and 4 NLDS, 2 Pennants and 1 World Series. We got younger in the last 3 years in a row and this is one of the youngest team in the league. Just wait for 2015!. Do you have any other positive thoughts to add?
