I am very thankful today for the medical system here in Canada. I have been very depressed for a few months now and it got really bad in the last few weeks, to the point where my body was physically shutting down and I didnt feel safe to be alone anymore. Today I went to my dr, he sent me to the ER, I saw a psychiatrist within an hour and was given the best news. News that has changed my life forever. I am beyond thankful for the psychiatrist ordering me to have at home care, so I can be with my family, instead of checking into the hospital like I was there to do. I saw another Dr. later, who works with the at home care program, and she made me feel so safe and gave me the strength I needed to accept the help I need. Its hard to admit you need help. Its hard to accept what is sometimes, but I now have the support I truly need. A psychiatrist and counsellor will be coming to my house everyday and helping me through this difficult time. This is all for FREE people, this is amazing really. I hear all the stories of a horrible medical system in Canada, well I havent experienced that since Ive lived here. Thank you Canadian medical system, I feel like you have saved my life today. I feel like I can fix this once and for all and I actually think there is a future where I dont have to feel this way ever again.
