I am very upset. I was watching the science channel and-- Science and technology are somehow merging. Thats right, someone was referring to technology as advancements in science. Well, I have some arguments with that: Technology: exists everywhere and is a necessary part of human survival. Science: A philosophy, albeit one that always tries to prove its correctness with a method Philosophy: dogmas about big questions that can be various or morph into theology If you combine science with technology you make the dogma of science immortal, because technology is immortal, so I have some conditions. In the times of ancient greeks artisans were known as lowly compared to a philosopher. This has to change. If science wants to be as cool as the guy who invented clockwork, they have to admit theyre a really stupid asshole blowing off hot air and cant do anything practical even if they tried. I dont care if science has a method in which to figure out whether thoughts work or dont work, engineers actually have to make things that work and make life easier, and so they are beneath your average plumber. Those are my conditions. Which are just being mulled over in my mind, but I think its a reasonable objection. I like science, sure, but science did not invent the internet. Science sits and thinks.
