I am writing to inform you that the Neath Port Talbot Deposit Local Development Plan (LDP) is to be published for consultation for a period of 7 weeks, beginning on Wednesday 28th August and ending at midnight on Tuesday 15th October. The Deposit Plan will shape the future of land development in Neath Port Talbot for the next 15 years. Once completed, the LDP will identify what can be built where. The Plan sets out: • A strategy, including an overarching vision, objectives and key policies; • Area based policies for development; • Major allocations of land including housing and employment; • Policies and proposals for the protection of sensitive areas; and • A Proposals Map. The document has been produced following consultation and participation with the public and stakeholders, and its publication presents an important and final opportunity for all those interested to submit comments (either in support or objection) to its content. The Deposit LDP and associated documents will be available to view or download from the Council’s website at npt.gov.uk/ldp and printed copies of the documents will be available for public inspection at each of the Civic Centres, One Stop Shop at Pontardawe and at any of the libraries within the County Borough. Comments can either be submitted directly online or on a Representation Form which is also available on request or to download from the Council’s website: npt.gov.uk/ldp . The closing date for comments is midnight on Tuesday 15th October. Comments received after the deadline will not be accepted. Following close of the consultation, the Deposit Plan, along with all comments received, will be submitted to the Welsh Government who will appoint a Planning Inspector to carry out an independent Examination in Public into the Plan. If you would like the information in this email in another language or format, or if you would like further information, then please let us know.
