I and my hubby, Monty Malcolm, had the most Awesome day. His roots are in Echo, OR. The town of Echo was named after his Great Aunt Echo Koontz. We spent the day in Echo and met so many Wonderful people!!! Not a bad seed in the entre little town. The Gorgeous house where Echo was raised was our first stop and the gentleman that lives there just happened to be outside feeding his hummingbirds. You know me... I struck up a conversation with him & the rest of the day was layed out for us. He opened the museum for us where Monty got to see his Granddads pictures and memorabilia, then we had a Great lunch at a little mom & pop café, then on to a Tasting Room built by Echos father. He pretty much built the entire town. Phenomenal!!! Then on to a couple of antique stores in town where I purchased a couple of crocks to make my pickles & sauerkraut in, then back to the Koontz home & got a personal tour. The owner Dale, let us know that his wife gave him permission to let us in but only on the main floor. He said, She never lets people tour their home. That was so exciting that we would be permitted. Such a Beautiful Home! Our final stop was at the cemetery, I drove up & picked a spot in the shade to stop. Right there on my left were the headstones of Echo and both of Granddads brothers all side by side. That was so weird that I chose that spot to stop. All in all... that was a Wonderful day and Monty gets to check off one item on his Bucket List. We will return! That is a Very Nice little town filled with lots of lovely people! Thank You for your kindness and generosity Echo, OR
