I apologize in advance for the long post, but there is a lot to share. Please read the entire post & keeping PUSHing. Tim leaves for Houston on Wednesday. He is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, Oct 28. This surgery will be very extensive and invasive. He will probably be hospitalized for 4-6 weeks. The plan is to remove what remains of the tumor. MRI results show the tumor did shrink with the chemo, but not the results surgeons were hoping for. Removal of the tumor will require a portion of his sacrum to be removed. They will shave bone from his femur to repair his sacrum and use pins & screws to rebuild his hip. There are several vertebrae that have been invaded by the tumor & several nerves are rooted in this area. The surgeons plan to remove the tumor from the vertebrae and nerves with as little nerve damage as possible. There are a lot of unknowns as far as nerve damage goes. This surgical procedure could be very lifestyle threatening/altering for Tim. Tim needs our help - spiritual, emotional, and financial help. Please continue to lift him & his family up in prayer. Prayer is a powerful weapon & something we can all do to help him. Please pray that the surgeons & physicians are making the best decisions for our friend. This entire process has been an emotional roller coaster & is nowhere near over. Tim has tried to remain positive and optimistic, but thats really hard to do in the midst of chemo, sickness, mouth sores, blood transfusions, and extensive pain. If you can do a little something special to help lift his spirits, please do. Its really hard to reach him by phone, but you can send cards or facebook messages or plan a short visit. HIs address is 1025 Shady Lane Circle, Talladega AL 35160. Once they get settled in Houston, I hope to post a mailing address where cards can be sent. At this point Tim has absolutely NO INCOME. His typical monthly household expenses are about $1500 per month. His health insurance premium is $650 per month. Additional medical expenses (deductibles & copays) and travel expenses (hotel, gas, food, parking) are not included in these figures. The hotel expense alone for his upcoming surgery will be $4200+. Our fundraising efforts to this point have relieved Tim of financial burden and worry for the most part. Once again, we need your help. Any financial assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated! ** Donations can be made under Tims Go Fund Me account. The link is found under the Donations tab of this page. You can donate any amount from $5 & up using a debit or credit card. You can also set up a recurring monthly donation. ** Donations can be made at any First National Bank of Talladega location (Talladega, Munford or Lincoln) under the Tim Jones Donation Fund account. ** Donations can be mailed to Susan Hunter, 600 West Parkway Blvd, Talladega AL 35160. Please make checks or money orders payable to Tim Jones Donation Fund. We still have t-shirts, koozies, and cookbooks available for purchase. I will add these items under events later today. If you are interested in purchasing Team Tim merchandise, please comment under the appropriate event so I can contact you. I can mail items to you if necessary. You can also purchase Team Tim items at LMO & Co located on Talladegas courthouse square. Events also contains info on the Paparazzi Jewelry fundraiser that ends Oct 31. Tims mother (JoAnn Evans) plans to stay with Tim until he is home & able to manage on his own. She is a member of the leave bank through Alabamas education system. If you can donate leave time to her, please contact Traci Martin in AIDBs Human Resources Dept at 256-761-3358. Leave donations are appreciated! Please continue to pray for Tims health & endurance, the knowledge & skills of his physicians, and the strength of his family. Thank you all for loving & caring for Tim. Feel free to share this post on your timeline. PUSH - Pray Until Something Happens!
