I apologize in advance to all my wonderful friends in education, - TopicsExpress

I apologize in advance to all my wonderful friends in education, particularly my longest (not oldest ;) bff & Science Master, Katie Lopez.) As I wrapped up hours of meticulously cutting & pasting & battling my old friend perfectionism, these were the thoughts rolling through my brain: Question: Do Science Projects Suck? Hypothesis: Science Projects Suck, Indeed. Procedure: Help 11-year-old son come up with new idea a week before due when original idea flopped (Thank you, Bob Wisor). Spend hours helping 11-year-old gather info, supplies, & carry out experiment. Make futile attempts to get 11-year-old as interested in project as in Minecraft. Lose printer cord. Borrow printer which runs out of ink on first printing. Go to Target. Return to Target after buying wrong replacement cartridge. Lose internet connection at crucial point while kids fight over laptop, which is not functional at the time. Have everything in place & ready to glue, then have a main heading piece vanish into thin air. Finally finish. Results: Weekend has come & gone. Mom cursed, twice. Have not had bath. Laundry is not done. Pretty sure kids had Peeps & Reeses Pieces for at least one meal. (Thank you, Chris, for cooking... twice). Conclusion: Science Projects Suck. Period. That is all.
