I arise each morning a bit before the sun and express a statement of thanks to that which created me. Wash hands cleansing them of impurity. Now comes my favorite portion of every day. Stepping to a place of peace, both physical as well as emotional, I begin my morning prayers by wrapping myself in my prayer shawl and in so doing isolating myself from distraction, outside world disappearing, focusing, commingling my essence with the pure light of creation. Within this chamber coming into a fuller awareness of the ever presence of our Creator. My focus now becoming more complete. Binding Tiffilin to my arm next to my heart. In this I ensure that my prayers fully involve my heart. Next Tiffilin upon my head to place them in my thoughts, involving the intellect fully. Binding my hand with the strap from the box over my heart I recognize that action should as well be involved. These actions bring all of the aspects of my being, body, mind and soul into an alignment of unified purpose. Wrapped in a cocoon of pure light and energy I begin the spoken prayers. These prayers acting to fully unite body, soul and mind. Not just within my own being but uniting it with the light of our Creator as well. At this point come my personal prayers. Parting my shawl I focus on my wall of pictures. On this wall are the faces of friends, family and so many beautiful souls. I now draw an awareness of each of these individuals with me into this chamber of light. Focusing my warmest thoughts, hopes and desire upon them and ask with all my essence, body mind and soul, that they be greatly blessed. And yes, I do this for each and every one, each and every day. Now I ask a general blessing upon all that is extant, for is it not said that even the individual blades of grass contain a soul? Morning prayers complete I always find myself a bit reluctant to depart this place of spiritual sanctuary, yet I do so knowing that each day brings with it the privilege, joy and honor of interacting with ever more souls of beauty and light and always is the blessed opportunity to place another face or few upon my wall. Soon I must expand my wall for it is becoming quite filled with all of your beautiful faces. That is quite alright though I have plenty more walls that need filling and my heart fills with joy and awe each time I get to add another of your beautiful faces. So; If I ask for a photo, now you know why. I thank each of you for this great privilege. May you each and all be blessed with LOVE beyond measure, JOY abundant, and the sure knowledge that each soul is a tremendous treasure. All of them dear to my heart. Shalom; Rab Ari.
