I arrived at Fort SDCKT weary from days of fighting faceless dragons. My troops, thin in number, but not in enthusiasm, where waiting eagerly and clearly needed a noble mission as much I did, (we all battle faceless dragons and we all need purpose). We launched our self powered vessels from the shores of the Enchanted Cove, heading east to the grasslands of Mission Flats. After overthrowing enemy resistance at waters edge (our own fatigue an distractedness), we mounted a Monumental assault on 4 massive grassy straight aways. Foot speed, turnover, and the power of team work turned our attitudes around in short order. I watched stealthy athletes challenge the most stealthy, and they were both the better for the challenge. After 9 intervals, on three straights we regrouped for the last and significantly longest one. Each athlete hit their stride. It was the longest and the most demanding rep that pulled the best out of each of us. We finished our assault on the grasslands, mounted our vessels n made are way back, across the Straights of Barlow, arriving at Fort SDCKT different than when we left. Better. We train because we can, we train because every workout makes us better, we train because thats what peaceful warriors do. Well done team SDCKT, my band of young brothers and sisters. The nearly full moon and the magical song on the jukebox leaving the Island was icing on the cake. Strength and Honor, Coach Cris
