I arrived at the hospital this morning to a nice surprise, - TopicsExpress

I arrived at the hospital this morning to a nice surprise, Zachary was awake and talking. He got two transfusions yesterday and they upped his fluids because he was dehydrated. All that combined with pain meds and anti-nausea meds is making him feel better. His white blood count was zero yesterday and they predict his platelets will be zero by tomorrow and he will need to replace those with a transfusion, His mouth and throat are still swollen and as long as he has the pain meds, he can talk. We hope by this weekend, he may be on the upswing and slowly getting his strength back. Thanks to Tam Pregent, Jenn Fournier-Stooke and Josephine Lambert for dropping birthday cards and balloons by the hospital for Zachary. He loved each one. Also I want to thank Gyverscots KarenProkopetz for her continued care and love she is sharing with Zachary. He received the solar kit, yesterday and when he is feeling a bit better this week, he and his Uncle Lyle are going to build the solar dog. (Uncle Lyle didnt want to be left out of that fun)! Thanks so much to everyone that continues to send cards to Zachary. You are all very special folks that took the time out of your busy lives to do something remarkable for Zachary and your kindness has been ever as bit important to his care and cure as medicine. Now to see if I can get Zachary to eat a little orange jello! Wish Bill Cosby was here to make jello more fun!
