I ask EVERYONE to fight hate and intolerance. This is inexcusable in this country. This past week Republican representative from Oaklahoma John Bennett stated that Islam was a cancer in America and must be cut out. Since his statement, there have been many death threats against Muslims in Oaklahoma. Several weeks ago, the Christian magazine Charisma printed an opinion piece by a pastor named Gary Cass who called for the extermination of all Muslims. There are many articles around the web about Muslims and whats going on in the Middle-East. Along with these articles come the most disturbing of comments. Many of these articles are from Christian sources, so one can assume that those making these comments adhere somewhat to the Christian faith. Let me tell you, these comments are HIGHLY disturbing, and definetly not something Jesus would encourage. In fact, I imagine him up in Heaven cringing right now at the actions of his followers. Just as ISIS is not Islamic, these comments are not Christian. In retrospect, since Rep Bennetts statement, Oaklahoma Muslims are in a sense on lockdown status. They have been warned to keep their guard up while in public. Their kids are being kept inside during recess. I like what this Imam in Oaklahoma said, The way he ( Rep. Bennett) is acting is contradictory to the Jesus I know. This is not my country, this is not my America. - Suhaila
