I asked Bills permission to post these pictures. Some of the old traditions are the best. One of the most humbling experiences Ive ever witnessed, is Bill and his family digging his mothers grave by hand in West Virginia. This is how its been done in the family cemetery since the early 1800s. Bill, his brothers and nephews use the digging as a grieving process for their loved one. It just touched my heart to hear them tell stories of their ancestors to our grandchildren. We were married in the little church below in 2005, and his family- past and present, were there with us as we said our vows.
