I attended and listened to a lecture from a missionary who has recently returned from Uganda, Nicaragua, and Democratic Republic of the Congo. He gave a great lecture. He said, Compared to Third World countries that (he) visits; the villagers and their children are receiving salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ, while America is raising healthier, smarter, and well - dressed children who are going to hell. Ouch! He said he knows of two products that are in every country around the world except Iraq and Pakistan. Those products are Coca-Cola and bottled water. In 118 years Coca-Cola has had more salesmen go around the world selling Coca-Cola than Christians have spread the gospel in these same countries over the span of 2000 years. When Jesus said, “If you drink from this cup you will never thirst again, He wasn’t doing a Coca-Cola commercial.” Where are the Christians? Why is Islam growing at a faster rate around the world than Christianity? Is it because Christians are hiding out in their churches Sunday after Sunday? What defines us as Christians? It is not how many members we have added to our church; it is how many disciples we have equipped for the work of the ministry!
