I began today standing with tears pouring down my face typing this text to my dad because I knew that I could not make it home for election day…Dad, I still remember standing outside of the courthouse when I was 5 years old watching you shake peoples hands and sincerely ask for their votes. I remember you still going door knocking every year after for your other school board races, and then your next big calling to run for City Council. I even got to go door knocking with you and experience the heat, overly talkative older women (All sweet of course), and even people turn you down to your face, but that did not stop you from continuing to ask for their votes. I still dont regret skipping my first day of senior year in high school to be by your side on election day. I dont regret putting up signs at late hours. I dont regret spending every election day with you just so I could watch my dad teach me so many lessons just by his actions. Elections have taught me what it means to be completely passionate about something and going after it because you believe that you can make a difference and that you fully believe in your capabilities in that position. I had no doubt when I first learned that you were going to run for Judge because you believed that you were right for the job. HARDWORK pays off and thats what this election has been… HARDWORK! I wish I could be standing beside you today like I always have been every year since I was 5. I will pretend that I am sitting in the room when all of the points roll in. I believe in you DAD! I am sorry that I cant be there beside you, but I will be thinking about you all day from Knoxville! Love you Dad!! Now I sit in Knoxville listening to my Dad give his victory speech on the radio. What a blessing today has been for not only my dad, but all of the people who have contributed so much time and love to the campaign!
