I being an 80s child in a Catholic School in Karachi, did not face any such dissonance. We were taught respect and tolerance for all sects and religions. Our catholic teachers never imposed anything but tolerance and mutual respect on us. We studied Islamiyat and they studied Scripture. We studied Urdu as a second language, but that was never an ideological problem for us, as we were all Pakistanis first.
