I believe I have another gift - Lawyer! Testimony time Before day on Saturday, August 16, I had to make a quick trip to Tallahassee to deliver some things to Kareem Smith for his dorm room. Before I left, I said a prayer of protection, etc... Strangely, after I finished the prayer there was a heaviness on me. I thought, oh my goodness, I am going to have an accident. I went back into prayer and I asked God to bind up accidents, road rage, etc... Still heavy. I got on the highway anyway- because I was assigned a 3 week job and I would have no time to get this stuff to Kareem. I heard the Holy Spirit say, Drive slow, take your time, you are not in a hurry. When I reached the Turnpike, there were signs that mentioned dont hurry, drive slow.... Long story short, cars passing me left and right. So, I started following all the speedsters. Eventually, I set my cruise control to74ish - 78 mph. Yes, the speed limit is 70. But, everybody was passing me by, so I decided to try and keep up with them. (Bad Choice) Out of all the cars in the pack - the lady with the FAMU tag was chosen. I gets pulled over and was handed a ticket that said I was traveling 90 mph. Really Officer! This is my first ticket in over 20 years. Its all good, Ill see you in court. I had to travel over 2 hours to attend court, missed a day of work..... But, Im determined! The word is-- there is a silent code of honor that a Judge will not rule against an Officer. Thus. I was advised by many to pay the $295 ticket and keep it moving. Well, King Jesus and I went before the Judge and the Officer... Yes, I represented myself (with the Holy Spirit as my guide). I handled it well! At the end of the hearing the Judge says, I am going to rule that you WERE going 90 mph. You are guilty! I wasnt even mad because I promise you, I fought a good fight and the seeds that I planted in that courtroom will last longer than NOT GUILTY. Then the Judge went on to say, but, I will not assess any points to your license because you have no priors. Really!! Whoop de do! Plus, it is ORDERED and ADJUDGED that you will volunteer in your community and WILL NOT have to pay the fine, court costs or fees! WHAT! Hallelujah, Thank You Jesus. I praised God!!! I feel that was his way of saying - You are NOT GUILTY!!! To God Be the Glory!
