I believe our parliamentary democracy is at risk... and this petition is directly asking the one person who officially has the power, the Governor General of Canada (David Johnston), to dismiss Steven Harper from office. You can read the comments of the signatories for all the reasons why... or search online for more information regarding the most recent issue: massive and wide-spread objections to the so-called Fair Elections Act, currently tabled but not yet passed into law. Now is the only time we have to stand up and take action to stop the degradation of our country and our civil liberties. Of course, ultimately we also all need to VOTE. If this bill (Bill C-23) passes, Elections Canada will be DISempowered to promote citizens to vote... so I figure we will all just have to encourage each other!
