I believe the President was right when he said repeatedly the Constitution does not allow him to do the things he did this week. And I believe he knows it. I also believe he just doesnt care. He had visions of doing all these marvelous things when he was sworn in. For the first two years he could do what ever he wanted. After deep consideration he went for Universal Health Care. Too many people got wind of what that was all about and so they changed it to Affordable Care Act. With the help of some shaky dealings the Democrats got it passed. How shaky were they? Four years later and were still finding out how shaky. But back to the immigration thing. Democrats could have pushed it through the first year. Heck they could have passed it the first week. Rewrite what Congress passed and Reagan signed and make the dates more current job done. But they didnt do that. Obama could have done what he did late last week at any time from Jan 11 to Nov 14 but has anyone thought up any good reasons why he waited till now? Actually I have an opinion. By doing it in the middle of the Congressional lame duck session. He gets it in place BEFORE the new Republican controlled Congress takes over. Sure there will be all kinds of legal actions filed and those will have to go through the various courts. It may be after Obamas time is up before it makes it to the Supreme Court. By then all these people with new green cards will be more established in our society. And the hue and cry will go up, Its inhumane to deport us now. weve been living here all this time I am predicting a big surge for the same reasons the last ones came. Make it to the US and get past the border and sooner or later the gringos will cave and make us citizens! politico/blogs/under-the-radar/2014/11/white-house-releases-immigration-legal-opinion-199091.html
