I believe there is more happiness when we love people and use - TopicsExpress

I believe there is more happiness when we love people and use things than the other way around. It might be possible to define evil as thing-a-fying people (and, perhaps, non-human animals). I am troubled by the term Human Resources. It reminds me of the concept of dehumanization within Banduras mechanisms of moral disengagement in perpetuation of inhumanities. Kant spoke of our duty of respect as the duty to not degrade others to the status of means to ones own ends (Kant 1779, 6: 449–450). If people or organizations simply acknowledge that their model is to effectively compete with and, when advantageous, defeat others, then such behavior is at least consistent with their own basis. When people or organizations claim any altruistic model, routinely treating people or other animals as means rather than ends disgusts me. Kant even spoke of our duty to love as the duty to make the ends of others my own. Religious entities/persons claiming love is their raison dêtre while functioning (and even structured) to utilize people are especially absurd.
