I call this art .... John Waynes Alamo. In 1960 John Wayne released a film called The Alamo. Historically I was not the most accurate depiction of what happened during those 13 days of glory in 1836. However, as for pure entertainment, and for those who also were watching the Disneys version of the Davy Crockett saga, this was a very big deal. The Alamo chapel that was depicted in the film was wrong historically (no upper windows), but the cross on the top of the shrine, and the lone sentry made such a power statement, that I had to respond with art. There is also a square version of the art that I reworked (not just resized).
