I called in an order at the middle eastern place across the street - TopicsExpress

I called in an order at the middle eastern place across the street a few minutes ago. They gave me a number. I walked over a few minutes later and they didnt have my number. After a moment of confusion, I told them what I had ordered. They put the order in and I had my food in like three minutes. No big deal at all. It was a busy lunch rush and totally understandable. During this whole incident and ordering process the staff were apologizing profusely for losing my order. Im happy I got an apology, but they kept going on and on. I told them, no big deal. Still, I wondered why they were so over the top and then it hit me... most people are assholes, especially out here in wealthy, suburban, office park land. Im sure they get chewed out all the time for slight mishaps. It made me really sad. Im sad for the people who have to deal with irrational and anger-filled customers, and Im sad for people whose lives are so out of whack that a slight, easily fixable inconvenience with a food order would set them off. Tasty shawerma, though. Good job Pita Grill.
