I can recall only one time in the last 15 years that my presentation of facts and logic on the Internet has actually changed someones opinion. (Of course, he was a science teacher in a private school.) In contrast, I can point to academic and professional circles, where expertise is both acknowledged and appreciated, and show where I have made meaningful contributions in various fields, including history, chemistry and economics. Indeed, I have been issued multiple patents and been published in a leading peer-reviewed journal. Am I bragging? No. Im explaining my decision. With that kind of historical performance, I think Im going to take my toys and go home. If anyone wants my opinion on a matter of social consequence, they will have to ask for it.
