I can relate to this in so many ways. After losing my brother in July, during my softball career at SIUC the fans, my coaches, teammates, teachers, and sometimes complete strangers always had my back. The hardest part when you experience a tragic/sudden loss is the clock keeps ticking for everyone else and you have to keep moving on. I had the best teammates, friends, and community support. Like Coach Henson everyone grieves differently, but at the end of the day, you are in the public eye and have to put your emotions aside. What people tend to forget, is were all human. I had the privilege of being a college athlete, and would never trade my experience and life long friends I made during that time. There were times I cried in the dugout or on senior day when my brother wasnt in the stands. Coach Wilson is not alone. With time some say it will get easier some say but thats not the case...you just accept the path God has chosen and be a leader. Go Coach Wilson, its not easy, but this moment will not define your character only shows that yes..you are human and will shape the lives of these young boys like my coaches throughout my life always have. They will never forget.
