I can see why some people might think this is a good idea, but wearing a medical alert bracelet or necklace would do the same thing. I think the potential for harm here far outweighs the possible benefits. Could you buy one of these stickers anonymously, or would you have to get them from the DMV? Will the DMV put some kind of restriction on your license? Will the DMV share this information with your insurance carrier, resulting in higher insurance premiums for your elevated risk? Then if you have an at-fault accident, will your insurance carrier blame it on your diabetes and refuse to pay? Will diabetic drivers end up (eventually) being required to disclose and have one of these stickers? Not to mention, if you have this sticker on your car, what kinds of ugly, ignorant notes will you find on your windshield? Ignorant people say enough BS to my face when they find out Im diabetic. Imagine what theyd come up with if they could hide behind the anonymity of a note. Also, what if someone borrows my car and has an accident and loses consciousness? Surely the medics would be trained well enough to test their BG first and wouldnt administer insulin to someone with a normal reading, but you never know. Mistakes happen. I wouldnt want one of these stickers on my car!!!
