I cannot decide if I just met the least or most rational police officer on Park Road South (Northbound at Malaga). He pulled me over, I opened my window and put an umbrella out the window and started to open it, to which I hear Put the weapon down sir Its an umbrella, I dont want to get wet, and I assume you dont want to either. I proceeded to open the umbrella and he approached, crouching under the umbrella. Sir, can I please see your license and registration. Here you go, its my grandfathers car, I borrowed it for an evening drive past the water front. Sir, have you been drinking tonight. No, officer, why do you ask? Was my driving sporadic. No, but you were driving quite slowly, often a sign of impaired drivers struggling to attempt to focus on the road. Well, officer, its dark, there are many pedestrians in this part of town, the roads are wet, I am alone on the roads and not holding anybody up, and I am not in a rush to get anywhere. So, if you would like to give me a test for drinking you can. But if you would like, we can skip the tests and you can issue me a ticket for driving safely according to road and weather conditions, on one condition...you dont fuss when I detain you under citizens arrest for impersonating a police officer.
