I cannot stop thinking about Robin Williams death. As many of you know, mental illness is a strange type of anguish. Practically invisible, sometimes completely undetectable, and extremely taboo. It can cause seemingly regular and happy people to break apart in moments and unfortunately thousands of people do not seek help due to believing that they arent worth it, that theyre wasting peoples time, or that theyll be treated like theyre crazy by their friends and family. It hurts me that some of my friends and family feel this way and may be suffering in silence. Mental illness is what it sounds like: An illness. It is something to be treated and it happens to EVERYONE at some point in their life. It doesnt make you broken or strange, it doesnt define you as an individual, and you are never truly alone (even if you feel that way).
