I cannot understand why fans are getting so upset about Jenna leaving at the end of this series. I still feel we cannot judge Clara as a character yet as she spent her 11th Doctor tenure as The Impossible Girl. for all we know, the chemistry might not work over the 8th series, so we will be glad that she leaves. OR they will get on spectacularly and we will be sad. Which ever the result, the fact is, the companions do not last long in this era of Doctor Who. In fact Karens Amy was the longest uninterrupted companionship of NuWho! only 2 1/2 series! which in the scheme of things wasnt very long at all! But Amy, because she was with the 11th Doctor had an impact. I think Claras first main impact was probably Nightmare in Silver then Name Of The Doctor. In other words, like Matts 11th Doctor, it took a few episodes to like her. But what ever decision Jenna has made - Clara will still remain a memorable companion. (James)
