I cant even begin to describe how relevant this is. Especially at this time. Having mental illness in this profession isnt something that gets talked about. Its something that gets swept under the rug never to be talked about until there is a bad day. And when there is a bad day we get shunned for it. Nobody wants to hear it. They just want to make it someone elses problem. Exactly as this states, you would think as medical professionals we would be more compassionate and understanding. On the contrary. The comments that get made around the station, things like I wish they would do it right the first time. Or dont they know to cut vertically and not horizontally? I could go on for days. We seem to forget that we get called to some of the worst moments of peoples lives. I hope this makes you think. It could be any of us tomorrow and would you even see it coming? Would you be able to say to say you did everything you could?
