I cant help but laugh to myself when I hear about a local saying that our Jiu-Jitsu or GJJ itself is not street. I just want to scream Do your homework. While you were coming up and practicing your pretty wrist locks, the Gracie family was actually beating people in no rules fights on a regular basis. There is a huge difference in learning something that works in theory and learning something you can apply in real time, UNSCRIPTED and see it actually work. There is no substitute for realistically being able to dominate someone who is 100lbs heavier than you. Besides I think that the training on our mats is some of the best self-defense training you could ever ask for in both Senjo and GJJ classes.
