I cant help feel that Mark Amery missed the boat entirely on this one, in my opinion, which is half arsed, this Rosemary McLeods arguments against the present The Dowse Art Museum have been swept into the gutter as typical arguments used exactly to insulate against what I thought was a genuine display of grief from someone in the local community or as Mark put it batted away by the director. What kind of Listening is this a display of? Well exactly the kind that I thought Mcleod was nuts enough to point a stick at. These institutions are nodes in the connective tissue that is our culture, connecting rather than isolating us. - Amery.
