I cant really say what an authentic life is, because its different for everyone. Thats the point. There is no template, no right and wrong. Each person has to create their own unique life, like artists finding their own style or voice. But Ive noticed that people who actualize their discoveries on this track of authenticity, people being real from the inside out — from the deep inside, not the surface, conditioned inside — do have certain characteristics, like openness, courage, inner peace, serenity, creativity, playfulness, humor, confidence, curiosity, energy, kindness, and expansiveness. Ive noticed, too, that these people exude an aura of freedom; that is, they are not bound to any set of expectations other than their deep inner truth, which may last for years, or hours. How these, and other, characteristics are played out in their roles and relationships are up to each person to sort out. One might be invisible to the public, or one might be renowned throughout the world. One might be wealthy, or not. One might go to work every day from 9 to 5, or one might cruise country roads in an old VW van. Though we all receive help and guidance and inspiration from others, we each must find our own way in order to experience and embody the freedom of being authentic, original, unique, gorgeous.
