I cant say how proud I am of the American Boerboel Club for having the forethought & doing all the legwork (Kay!) to enter the Boerboel breed in the Canine Health Information Center. Im particularly happy that ABC decided to go with mandatory *Echo-Cardiogram* testing for the Cardiac, as there are too many issues that can be missed by just auscultation.. particularly since ALL molosser dogs have more than their fair share of heart problems. WTG guys for being pro-active!! Id be lying if I didnt also say Im proud to have the first couple of dogs to be listed with a CHIC number (although Teals is the only certificate Ive received so far). :) FWIW, Teal is also Clear for Patellas (I need to fix that with OFA) & Clear/non-carrier for HU; I havent registered her HU certificate with OFA just yet, as Ive been busy with family stuff. The results of the tests do NOT matter, only that they have been completed.. to get a CHIC number your Boerboel must have been minimally tested for: Hip Dysplasia OFA Evaluation OR Penn-HIP Evaluation Elbow Dysplasia OFA Evaluation Congenital Cardiac Database OFA evaluation by board certified cardiologist, exam must include echocardiography. caninehealthinfo.org/brdreqs.html?breed=BO
