I cant tell you how fn AMPED I get thinking about this reboot...1 Marvel Movie I can hardly wait to drop. All this dumbass shit-talking about Michael B. Jordan playing Johnny Storm being blasphemy to the Fantastic Four story....no one seemed to have a stick up their ass when Jessica Alba (NON-white) played Susan Storm for the 1st 2 flicks. If you can handle that, you can handle Jordan putting a twist on a white superhero character. Just like another report said, Jordan could literally put on his performance as Steve Montgomery from Chronicle & essentially mirror Johnny Storms character damn near perfectly.... One solution for uptight dickwad comic geeks that swell their panties in a knot when this or something like Michael Clark Duncan becoming Kingpin happens (which was a GREAT performance, MCD captured Kingpins thuggish/alpha male mentality with excellence & was one of the FEW reasons to watch the Daredevil movie...R.I.P.) would be to start making non-white superhero characters that have the same reverence or ideal, inspiring back stories main characters like Captain America or Spider-Man gets. Luke Cage/The Falcon/Black Panther are either randomly glorified sidekicks or racially-stereotyped afterthoughts whose stories are more spinoffs than true character-developing projects. Blade & Spawn wouldve been fine if they werent characters with strong darkness overtones...without synthetic blood, Blade (a human-turned vampire) would HAVE to feed on humans to survive. Spawns basically a demon created in Hell when a guy makes a deal with an equivalent of Satan for a 2nd chance to get his life back after being murdered & whos only a hero to the underworld as hes nothing CLOSE to your friendly neighborhood fill-in-the-nationally-beloved-superhero-name. Until that happens, Im happy theres motion picture producers out there that are willing to risk their reputations to break the wall that still frames up the perpetuated social belief of only ONE TYPE of person (all-american white person....no racism intended, but cmon...lets be real here) being adequate to be called a hero. Im not saying I want Captain America to be changed into a black man...but whats wrong with making an equivalent named Valor Shield, for instance, that may be black, Asian, Indian, Native American & have a background that isnt intimidating or something negative that would be viewed typical for a minority character? Frankly, Captain Americas had plenty of copycat characters that mimicked almost everything about him (Jack Flag, U.S Agent) & Cap himself is a hero who got his powers from steroids. Wouldnt be hard to put together a believable character in that manner or something completely different altogether that could paint minorities in a POSITIVE LIGHT & give Marvel more social flexibility. Storylines are always recycled & remade to start new story arcs, this angle would bring more creativity in my opinion :-D... Sorry if this was too long, just felt like putting that out there...I grew up reading these comics, definitely something close to my heart like a couch-potato & a TV remote :-p
