I can’t believe it is already that time of year. That’s right, Christmas is coming! A lot of us like to spend our time watching our favorite holiday movies or shows that are as full of saccharine as the chocolates and baked goods that we’ll consume this holiday season. Yet I, like a large percentage of Americans, seem to lap this up year after year. I somehow need their assurance that we are all connected and that one person’s actions can make a difference. That is why we are asking you to join us on December 6th. Look no further than our own Fairport Harbor to be a part of the true meaning of Christmas. Here in our wonderful village, it is about community and our role in helping to shape it and improve the lives of all those -- from the child with the very least, to the lonely senior citizen, and even to our co-workers and a boss who may be a bit of a Scrooge. Let’s all come together to show that Fairport Harbor understands what the holiday season is truly about. We ask that you join us on Saturday December 6th beginning at 10:00am. From 10:00am-4:00pm. we ask you to visit the schools, churches, business and the VFW where the Fairport Harbor Police Association will Fill the Cruiser with Toys for Tots. Come to Veterans Park at 4 pm for music and a lighting ceremony. The Youth Group at Fairport Congregational Church will be providing Hot Chocolate and Cookies at the Church. The Grinch and Max will be climbing the lighthouse tower to read the Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 6:00pm. Following the story, you will have the opportunity to have free photos taken with the Grinch and Santa in Veterans Park. There will be trolley rides through the village to view the store front Christmas lights. Plan to spend the day in Fairport Harbor. We have attached a video from last year for your pleasure.
