I celebrate Caron Jowett from North Beach in Perth for her passion - TopicsExpress

I celebrate Caron Jowett from North Beach in Perth for her passion and enthusiasm for creating a fun running club at her primary school. This free fun activity is welcome to students from preprimary to Year 7 plus any interested parents and grandparents. In her own words - “This FREE parent run club meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am in the undercover area. We run for fun in a positive and supportive environment and new members are always welcome! No matter what your fitness level may be, you can join in and run one of our courses through Star Swamp that is nearby. Parents and grandparents are also most welcome to come along for fitness and quality time spent with their children. Running club is a great way to get fit, build friendships and reconnect with nature and our local environment. It has certainly been the most joyous and rewarding thing I have ever done. However, it is the children (not me) who have made this happen. They nagged their parents to get up an hour earlier. Their enthusiasm has infected others. They are the ones who cheer and clap the slower runners at the end of the run and the wonderful thing is, its still evolving! Parents and teachers are constantly reporting the positive impacts they see. A teacher told me last week that one of her students who has ADHD has been coming to Running Club for the past two weeks and those 4 days he attended were his best behaviour days for the whole year! Our motto is Run the first km with your legs, the second with your mind and the last with your heart! If anyone wants to know more feel free to Caron on her email: [email protected]
