I celebrate holidays with a purpose. I celebrate Christmas because of Jesus’ birth. I celebrate Easter because Jesus overcame death and saved me from my sins! I celebrate the 4th of July because I am grateful to live in the USA. I celebrate . . . Ok, you get the point. ☺ Thus, I find it hard to find a reason to celebrate Halloween when I don’t want to celebrate what it stands for. I believe in spirits, demons and witches and honestly, I don’t want to celebrate that! Last night we had some cute trick-or-treaters. It was only the second time I had ever passed out candy and it was good to see our neighbors. Next year we will plan on incorporating more of the gospel in our passing-out-candy night. I’ve realized it is the only day of the year that people just show up on our front door with open arms! Please do not think I am judging you if you celebrate Halloween. I do not know your heart and convictions. I don’t hate October 31st because I know each and every day belongs to Christ. He is so much stronger than all of the evil out there!
