I cherish the very best of Jay-Zs catalog. Hes truly one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic. That being said, the guy is well past his prime and has been getting progressively worse for the last five years. His current popularity has nothing whatsoever to do with his ability to adapt and evolve, and everything to do with industry connections and political maneuvers. Trendhopping is NOT evolution. Magna Carta: Holy Grail was a souless mess with decent production. He hasnt been a true trendsetter in years in regards to music. His muscles have atrophied while his profile has risen. Meanwhile, NAS is as sharp as ever. Hova will ALWAYS be top five, but hes nowhere near the best doing it right now, not even from New York.
