I closed a business after 25 years in 2010, filed bankruptcy, lost every thing, went from a combined 6 figure annual income to $0.00 went on social security disability after nearly living in a ditch, finally qualified for VAMC.. now I struggle to make the co-pay on my medication, it went over a set period of time. I got a notice from the treasury department that they were going to off-set my income to satisfy the debt! so I paid the bill when I got the money. attempting to contact the treasury department, VA, IRS, any baby brother alphabet soup agency is a nightmare! and to no resolution. so, my deposit was off-set the amount they said it would be, even after I paid!
