I come home at 1130 pm, exhausted from work, ready to sleep in the driveway, but I cannot-- I have parked in front of the barn, so the cats leap down to greet me. I get out, give them their affection, then gather my things and walk to the patio where I am greeted by the security team, Hero and Snickers. I give them their affection and unlock the door. In the kitchen, the fish approach, swirling in the aquarium like hungry sharks. I feed them, then notice the turtles playing in the new habitat I constructed this morning. I enjoy a hot shower and a warm drink before crawling in next to my gorgeous sleeping husband who wakes long enough to cover me with a blanket. This is the home we have made.
