I completely understand those books that let you record you reading them to give to children to listen to forever. Or people who get all gooey over home videos with certain people whose voices they dont get to hear anymore for whichever reasons. Voices, much like faces, are things that dont stick in your memory quite well. I think that even more so than faces, voices are more difficult to recall, and thats what makes them that more dear to people. For instance, I havent seen my older brother for a few months now, and while I can still kind of bring his face to memory, his voice has kind of left me already. I think that more than anything else (besides actually seeing him) that Id just love to hear his voice. And not just his. There are other people whose voices Id just love recordings of so that I could listen to them over and over again. Even if thats just to hear them say goodnight or my name or something else stupid, I just wish that I had that. Itd be such a comfort sometimes. Is that weird? The need to hear voices? Or the want to hear voices.
