I consider myself an American, I do not consider myself white and do not fall into the group of hispanics that lie to themselves saything that they are mestizo or a caribbean native (indio). I am a man of color and am proud of it. I do not believe that the color of a persons skin dictates anything in his life. that a person who works hard and kicks down the doors of closed opportunity are the ones that succeed. I do not want scholarships or jobs or anything else if any of the prerequisite is the color of my skin or where my parents were born, and though this may make it difficult to move forward I welcome the challenge and hope that my success will push others to drop the institutionalization of self segregations. things like Black, and Hispanic Heritage month; BET, and Univision should be a thing of the past we are all american and all strive for the same thing.
