I could understand the killing if you eat the meat. I have eaten snapping turtle and it is good. As far as I know, the species is not endangered or threatened. On the other hand, I know from experience that most animals have protection under current laws and regulations. I have to either have a scientific collecting permit and/or a hunting/fishing license to "take" wildlife, sport/game animals, etc. I do not condone waste and senseless killing like this, but I am not sure that a reward like this is necessary? Anyway, just my 2-cents worth.
