I couldnt have said it better: The way I see it, in order for me to learn how to forgive, to learn acceptance, or even to know my strengths, Ive got to know rejection, betrayal, heartbreak, being violated, being hurt, discover my shortcomings, and sit with my pain ... among many other things. I often hear people wishing aloud for some sort of utopia where there is no hurt, agony, rejection, bigotry, discrimination, abuses, violence, hatred, differences of values and beliefs, ad nauseum. Its a great idea in theory, but short sighted. To live in such world would imply a state where forgiveness, acceptance, love, understanding, compassion, empathy and the lot were not only unnecessary and invaluable, but entirely unknown. ~ Holly Holm
