I created this group for the purpose of establishing world-views, either collective or personal, which can be mapped out, explained, and defended rigorously. I come from a background in the Unification Church. There are many beliefs I wish I held, but cannot. Many beliefs in the Unification Church and in other religions have not been explained to me clearly. There is a lacking philosophical context in the Unification Church. This lack of foundation disturbs me greatly because, often times, I find myself holding pleasant beliefs only to have them ripped out from under me. We need more philosophical discourse in the Unification Church, and that is mainly what this group aims to provide. Post all your beliefs and defend them diligently. Also, do your best to deconstruct the beliefs of others. We may not find the truth, but well actively search for it here. I got frustrated by all those Truth in the Unification Church type groups. Ill do my best not to replicate those here. Rules: -Dont post anything you do not intend to back up. Expect to have deeper assumptions/supports/definitions questioned as well. -Experiential evidence, unless supported by empirical, logical, or otherwise duplicatable evidence is not allowed. I think thats all for now.
