I currently have a player, Sarah, on my GU15 club soccer team, great kid, hard worker, very confident in all she does…… Her Mom has been battling cancer for the past 8 mos., Mom has stage 4 cancer and is struggling, at the same time, her Dad lost his job earlier this year. I talked with him the other day and he was visibly shaken, he recently went for a routine ultrasound for some stomach problems he was having (big surprise), and on top of everything else he is dealing with, they found an aortic aneurism…. Unbelievable! To my point: The soccer club I coach for is running a fundraiser for kids like Sarah in need of scholarship help: We are selling golf balls ($10 ea. 12 for $100) to raise funds for kids in our club soccer program that have special needs. Here’s how it works: You purchase a golf ball(s) online at the link below, each golf ball you purchase will provide you with a chance at a $2,000 grand prize! Each ball is encoded with your information. This Friday evening, July 12th at Tijeras Creek golf club in South Orange County, all the purchased golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter on the 18th green (see pic on the link- pretty impressive). Closest to the hole (in the hole) wins first prize of $2000, 2nd and 3rd closest wins $500 each. There are other kids in our program that have similar needs but Sarah is on my team and it hits closest to home. Each $10 golf ball purchased will provide YOU with a chance to win either a $2,000 first place prize or one of two $500 prizes, and at the same time, provide scholarship funds for kids like Sarah. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN! You are welcome to attend a dinner at the Tijeras Creek restaurant Friday night and watch the helicopter ball drop and you are even welcome to register for a round of golf this Friday morning. My goal is to sell 200 golf balls that will raise $2,000 in scholarship funds that we can put towards young athletes like Sarah.
