I decided to bring my computer to Mexico after all, so Ill share photos from the amazing National Archaeological Museum in Mexico City, where I spent much of Friday with a small group of organizers and teachers on the way to an International Conference of the Goddess in Cabo San Lucas this week. (You can scroll down to see the flier for the conference, which is more like a week-long festival.) The Mexico City Museum is one of my world-wide favorites; visiting it for the first time in 1983, I had the profound realization that the entire earlier strata of archaeological material was FEMALE and pointed to the original, indigenous cultures that were female-centered, earth-based, and who lived by matriarchal values. Look at the variety of images, representing priestesses, Goddesses, queens, healers, shamans, and other empowered women.
