I decided to do this blog about Kim from Annettes perspective. I believe that although language is important in a relationship, one can find other ways to communicate information through other means. What I do try to portray in this specific blog is that as a caring friend, Annette can communicate with Kim the right way even though in the beginning they have a few obstacles because of the language barrier. Kim’s different culture leads to different actions (as mentioned above), which Annette may not exactly understand but all these different actions communicate to Annette, how Kim is different, and what’s so special about her that others around Annette don’t have or don’t do. In this particular blog I showed Kim’s importance of language in a relationship through body language, voice (phone), behavior and her knowledge of English vocabulary (e.g. in class). I chose a blog because blogs are the easiest way to convey a message regarding a lot of personal thoughts about someone’s feelings towards something. I used that opportunity to demonstrate how Annette feels her relationship with Kim grew with the issues they had with different language types, and how they still stayed friends even though they had a few barriers.
