I decided to rent two movies after work tonight. The first was the one I wanted to watch. When I got it home I realized Id rented the wrong one. The other I rented is Parkland--i selected it as kinda a novelty, it being the dusk of his death and all. Watching it now brings home again the horrific day of November 22, 1963, a day 15 years before I was born. I cant help but think how serendipitous it is to be watching it on this date. I think of my uncle, John Haggstrom who was in Okinawa when it happened, and how this event profoundly affected his life. I think of how our country could have benefitted from his full tenure. I think of his legacy that continues to color my life. Politics, power and USA. But gosh, what it could have been...
