I did it! I made my project goal on Kickstarter. I set the project goal at $500, and I made $576. How about that? I posted my “Crazy Diamond” video, and I think that is what got one backer’s attention. She pledge $500. I launch the project 3 times, and the third time was a charm. I kept launching the project for the recognition and promotion of Willy’s stories. I did not think I was going to meet my goal, but I kept twinking my project’s homepage. Now I can become a member of the SCBWI of North Texas. It’s a national organization for children’s book writers and illustrators. I went to their conference on Saturday, and it well worth the $185. I met one literary agent, a few illustrators, and someone from high school. There was also some there that worked Henry Wrinkler (The Fonz). He wasn’t there, but it was a great conference. I wish I could have stayed for cocktails, but the day wore me out. I need to be a member of the SCBWI, so I can get recognized as a children’s book writer. See what happen when I don’t give up. I should get the funds in a few weeks.
